The Postman

Do you ever wonder how some people get through the day?
I have a postman that is friendly enough, never bangs the door down and is always
polite and says hi.
However, every now and again i'll crack the same old joke with him, and he never seems to get it.
This is how it goes:

Postman: Morning Debs, more mail for you
Me: Thanks, looks like bills again
Postman: Yeah they should be done though email only
Me: (I smile thinking of that delete button!!) Either that or Bill should have his own mail
Postman: Is the address wrong?
Me: No, its ok.

I close the door grinning that this poor guy has just been subjected to my silly sense of humour and has yet again walked away thinking i'm a complete idiot!!

I can live with it but can he??

Lmao

Ps. Wendell....if YOU dont get it, go figure it!!! :P

Anyway, I just wanted to share this one...even though my lo's are also in my scrap blog...as i've said, I reseverve this blog for me and mine!! LOL
Ok...this picture of Kirsten is my favourite, a genuine, big, fat smile that I just love. Her face lights up and she look so innocent! (if only!!)
So, as i'm used to doing busy pages with lots going on this is a real challenge cos i'm just dying to add loadsa flowers and ribbons!!!
But I wont!!

If you have a scrapping blog leave me a comment and i'll happily come and scraplift what you done!!! Lol:)
Well for me i'm off to lay on the sofa, I feel like i've done a 24 hour crop or something...but i've loved every second i've spent doing these layouts and already i'm coming up with some ideas for more! Maybe I should get my butt in gear and do some sketches...can add them to my site see if they're any good for anyone else :)
Right, see ya!!

Retreat Apologies

I have to offer my sincere apologies, the venue for the Summer Imagination Weekend Retreat has fallen through. The sales person whom I spent almost 2 days talking to got it wrong, seems she has double booked. It wasn't picked up on till after i'd posted on uks forum and it was viewed by 80 something people and 30 something people pm'd me.

I feel not only annoyed but embarrassed by this and I hope you can forgive me.

The good news is that I have three other gorgeous places to go and see next week, this time I am doing it in person and asking specific questions that will be repeated and confirmed! This will not happen again!!

On another note, I am in talks with Jane Dean who has very kindly offered to give up some of her summer time with her family to design and teach TWO classes!! I promise you that this lady who I call the 'Anything Lady' (she can make anything out of anything....craft related I mean and it works) is going to be offering some fabtastic designs that are exclusive to this retreat!

More information will be availabe as soon as things start being confirmed but if you wanna ask anything just email me or contact me on uks.

Late night scrapping is good for the soul!

Well, I have finally finished the 2nd of my layouts and I have to say that I like it! I'm not going to compare it to anyone elses layouts or style cos i'm not them, just me, but I achieved what I wanted to and thats good enough for me!! Midnight last night came and I decided I was going to plan another layout...so I did...both are on my scrapping blog is you wanna go see them. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to see my mojo again and just play around with some stuff and ideas. Today i'm going to do one more....i've set myself two per day at the moment, but if I only start the second then thats ok.
Kirsten is off school today after having a migraine attack (didn't help that we got up late either!) so she's hovering around trying to cajole me into giving her my stash...the girls doesnt know how close to danger she is!!! LOL I've now got her to bake some cookies, photos included so I dare say she will be off doing some digi scrapping on her computer later, she loves digi style.
Her space, My space photo prompt is 'spoon' so now i'm off to see what I can come up with....here it is....nothing exciting i'm afraid, I have to reserve my imagination for my layouts!!! LOL

Her space, My space

Her space, My space photo prompt today is toes...now I am NOT a feet fan in any shape or form...but these shameful babies need some attention so I decided to set myself time out to have an all over pamper session...tomorrow evening when Kirsten is at her Nan's and Charley is in bed...just me, some music and lotsa bubbles! Todays prompt is rather uncanny innit!! Good minds and all that!!
I have finally done two layouts for myself! The first i've done all year I think.
I posted a thread on uks about what others do when they lose their mojo...I had some good responses there that I pondered and gave much thought to...add that to my teamies challenge....and hey presto...I'm on the road to recovery!! Lol
So, this teamie, Em...Sugar Almond (sorry to reveal ya hun!!! :P) we were chatting on the phone today, doing what girls do, having a good ole waffe and giggle then blow me within a minute of hanging up she went and challenged me AND set the clock ticking!! LOL
I think it was what I needed though, not being one to pass by a good challenge it really made me think....the only hard part was that I had to scraplift one of the gorgeous layouts she'd done...and I am now way in her league at all!!! She's just sooo talented!! But I appreciate it, and she was nice about my attempt too so its all good stuff!! Lol
So, here is what I put together, but when I put my glasses on I saw how some of it just didnt coordinate....that'll teach me huh? Lol

The second one I've done just needs the title finishing off...which i'll do when i've found the right paper to print it onto....but its not as fussy as this one...but I like it though :)
I have some really neat pictures of Charley from a few weeks ago, I want to do a double layout of them to tell a wee story of our walk home from his nursery....but need to get my butt into gear to find the cable for the photo printer, i've gone and put it in one of those 'safe' places that never appear again!! Duh!
Enough waffle, i'm going to bug my teamies if they're around!!

Long blogs

I remember the time when my blog posts were LONG and DEEP...now I cant even think of something semi-intelligent to say!! Lol I've just been reading a blog owned by a lady in Seattle...I have gone through every emotion possible....i've laughed at her tales about her husbands diy...i've cried as she talked about her baby boy who only lived 4 hours, i've related to bad hair days, nodded in total agreement that the world is mad...and i've felt all choked up when she wrote of how she feels about her three children and how she sighs relief every morning they wake up!
This gal is only 38, same as me and had so much to contend with in just a year that my hat goes off to her...she still remains (or appears to) positive, spirited and determined. Definately an inspiration to mere mortals like myself.
So, it got me thinking about my life...and those of you that know me personally know that its been a bit pants recently...BUT I am grateful it wasn't anything worse than it was, and that my children are safe and healthy. I'm grateful for the loyal and loving friends that I have who continually encourage me, support me and give me that much needed kick up the butt!!
I guess i'm just wondering where my analysed thoughts have gone to...but have come to realise that I dont think I need them to be happy...and yeah, i'm VERY happy right now...things are looking up.
So, if anyone is having a bad day, try what I try to do...look at the good stuff that you have and let that fill you instead of the sad stuff.
This photo made me smile when I took it...my lil dude sat in his favourite place, on his changing unit in the conservatory...on the phone...to his dad...whilst admiring the view to the garden...complete with pj's and wellies!! LOL Now thats a happy thought!!! :)

Hugs from me to all of ya

I am now an official sponsor of UK Scrappers! I have to admit I find it exciting that now i've reduced my chances of getting into trouble when i'm in the most innocent of conversations!! Yeah, I can do that so easily!! Lol

~*~sparkle the imagination~*~

is also the proud owner of a new pink chat forum. Still in the making but feel free to check it out and leave me a message or 10!!

Anyone who gets 6 people to sign up for at least one of my classes I shall offer you a free class of your choice!! You can choose one that i've already got listed or you can wait and take one that is still to be listed...your choice!! There is no limit to how many free classes you can earn and the offer is available to anyone. There is also no time limit on when you can take your free class either.
For more information drop me an email.

I am currently on the look out for design team members.....if you are interested email me some of your work and we'll get talking!

Yesterdays hsms photo is none existent...Kirsten and I planned to do some baking after school...but when the time came (and I bought all the stuff speshally) she decided she didnt want to play with me....she went off with her friends!! :( So no piccies for that one!

Todays photo is a no goer as well...there's no way i'm showing my pathway! It's boring and nothing interesting there at all...though I have toyed with the idea of decorating with some stash....!!! :P

Right, more work to do whilst the little man is at nursery...no rest for the wicked!! Lol

Happy Mondays...??

Yesterdays hsms photo prompt....card. I chose this little card that my friend Chris sent to me.
Never a truer quote...and he's proven his friendship to me over and over...as many of my luberly friends have!! :) I lub my friends!! :)

So..Monday morning, who's happy?
I'm happy on the inside...but I am sooo tired! I made the mistake (again) of letting my fidgety 10 yo daughter sleep in my bed...I tell ya, this girl dont just want all the bed, she wants all the duvet too!! I was so tempted to get up and go sleep on the sofa!!
So i'm tired today. The upside is that I dont have any fairy chores to do...but i'm sure I could find them if I tried hard enough! That's sad innit?!! Lol

So, what's my plans for today? Not too sure yet, hopefully by the time i've finished listening to my scriptures i'll have something figured out! I'd originally planned to go out with my friend job hunting...but she's cancelled owing to her little boy being sick. So its me, myself and I.:)

Todays photo prompt on hsms is cookies...now that is already adding calories as I just type it!
I'll take that photo later when i've made some!

Wanna see it? Do ya? Do ya?
Here's a glimpse of it...

To find out more than you need to go ~*~sparkle the imagination~*~ and see what to do!

I have (as of last night) become a sponsor on UK Scrappers! When the leg work is done I can then go on and tell everyone about my wonderful, luverly classes and all about my cyber crop, the Summer Imagination Retreat i'm organising and all about how they can get FREE classes from my site!
Cool eh?!!

What was that? You wanna know now? My, how impatient are you???

Ok Ok i'll tell ya bit about it....ya ready?? :)

August 24th to the 26th is my Summer Imagination Weekend Retreat.
I have 5 famous (in our world they're famous anyway!!) people giving classes....two of whom are Shimelle and Cheryl Johnson! We are going to have a local newspaper journalist in to do a story on us and its going to be a fantastic weekend!

~*~sparkle the imagination~*~ will host its first cyber crop on Saturday 16th June with a pencilled in guest appearance of another famous lady that I cant name just yet in case she cant make it! Watch this space though!!

I am currently in talks with 8 craft retailers about sponsorships to my classes! These people will be showing off some fantastic stuff and my clever gals will be showing you what to do with it!!
Even though I have a design team I will be looking to extend on that to approx 8 willing and talented ladies...if you want to apply email me and i'll get back to ya!

Last but by no means least I am offering an indefinate opportunity for everyone to earn a free class, either one thats uploaded or soon to be uploaded. All they have to do is get 6 people signed up to one of my classes and they'll get the voucher via email!! And there's no limit to how many anyone can earn!! There are 30+ classes in the infantile stage right now...to cover a whole range of ideas, concepts, styles and themes!

Ok, back to beads...this is what I chose to take....is my daughter plait and bead thing she made and for good measure I thought i'd include my three favourite Bad Taste Bears too!! Lol

I just luv these lil fellas!!! Don't you??!!

Ribbons....my favourite goodies!!

When I checked Her space, My space for todays photo challenge, how my eyes lit up seeing it was ribbons! Ooooh I love ribbons! Ribbons go on everything for me...i've even been known to jazz up my plain white flowing skirt with them!! I have them on all my lil note books, attached to some favourite scriptures/quotes that i've printed off, on my scissors, round my camera, a pretty piece is used as a strap on my mobile and I have even used them on my handbag!!! They are just too gorgeous to just leave on paper!!!
Anyways...this is my ribbons pic for today...

Now i'm off to do some boring stuff....then I will probably find something interesting to do that doesn't include the washing machine, iron or a cooker!! Lol

Procrastination debate

Today is the one day I have made no plans for. There's a lot I could (or probably should) be getting on with but i've not mentally planned for anything...so...do I procrastinate for a bit or should I start working on that list that I hide in my drawer?
Tough choice!
However, its not often I dont plan something for my days, especially while i'm in limbo with waiting to move house and waiting to get a job....the idea of doing nothing sounds brilliant but the actual act of it is somewhat boring...so my debate isn't really a debate is it? :P
I do, however, feel inspired on another class that i've been thinking about, it's a basic handmade book for beginners in journalling and scrapbooking, something i've been asked for a few times in the last couple of weeks so today I think, is the day to try and put it together!
My other class, Baby Boy Car Book is going to be uploaded later tonight just as soon as i've got the pictures done for it. This is a cool project that is well worth having a go at if you want something different!
There is another newsletter in the making so if you wanna get a copy then fill in your email on the right side here and you will know all the lastest that's going on at ~*~sparkle the imagination~*~
Right...enough of that for now...todays word on Her space, My space is: Strap.
This gave me too much to choose from! I mean, when theres five things on a menu, for me there's always four too many, so with two girlie girls in our house and lots of other things (ie stash bags...etc) then my mind is just far too loaded trying to decide!
I guess my choice was made when when I saw Charley's Bob the Builder swimbag hanging on the door...just begging to be chosen!! Lol
So here's my lil man's own 'strap'....

Well thats all from me....have a great day!!
Debsxx

16 May 2007

Shoes....but while i'm at it....Clothes too!

Todays word on Her space, My space is...shoes!
I was very tempted to get silly and do something totally silly to my trainers...but I thought i'd try this 'being sensible' thing....for now!! :P Well, these lil puppies are my favourite summer shoes when I go somewhere nice...but as you can tell I dont get to go anywhere often!!! LOL No, these are for those really, really, really special occasions...ok a night out then!!! :)

Edited to say: The fact that they have heels doesn't mean I can stand in them!!! :D Lmao

Got up this morning and decided to get my domesticated goddess boots on...so I have not only gutter all my upstairs but I had the bright idea of sorting out the kids clothes....BIG mistake! They say ignorance is bliss...well YES it is! I have now realised that my two younger kids need a heap of new clothes....i've filled three black bags with their too small goodies...which leaves them with about 4 outfits left!!! I'm actually wondering if I was too merciless in my efforts though!!
So ebay, here I come!!
Next time I feel an inspiration like this coming on i'm going to remind myself that my ideas are not good for my pocket!! LOL
Yet again its persisting it down here...where has the nice sunshine gone to? I think its so unfair that we only get it for a short time!!! :P
I dropped my camera yesterday, smack bang on the lens. I was mortified I tell ya! Lil Sam just wouldnt work, he was probably p'd off with me!! Today however he's working when he wants to so I am gonna have to see what else I can find...I cant do anything without a camera! Disposable ones are naff and besides, I dont have the patience to get them developed, I like my pictures NOW!!
Oh yeah, why do I get comments regarding stuff I put on here in my email box rather than on here? I dont mean the girls who do the mshs challenges, (hey thanks for your comments girls!!!) but friends who read here and decide to comment somewhere else?!! Hmmm!!
Moan over, now its time to get my butt in gear...cant play here all day!! :P

Tassles....

My space Her space has had me challenged today...I cant find a single thing with a tassle on!
So I've improvised and 'tasselled' up my scissors!!! LOL

This is my attempt....

Its all about imagination right?!!

Chocolate

Oooohh chocolate! Going through the blogs of people doing the My space Her space photo challenges is just so much HARD work!
So much chocolate that I cant get to...I WANT CHOCOLATE! :)
I have been doing a bit of research to all the different ways of it being eaten...and this is what I came up with...feel free to tell me any i've missed to see how many we can get to!

  1. melted on biscuits
  2. melted and hardened on breadsticks
  3. chocolate snaps in crackerbread 'sandwiches'
  4. maltesers/balls bobbing in hot choc drink
  5. marshmallows dunked in melted choc
  6. melted choc...eat by dipping fingertips in lightly (slow and easy!!)
  7. stuff it all in at once and totally gorge on it!
  8. chocolate crispies
  9. chocolate cornflakes
  10. broken into tiny pieces and eaten slowly
  11. grated and eaten one flake at a time
  12. blended with strawberries
  13. chopped and floating in cold milk
  14. crisps dipped in melted choc
  15. sat in a hidy cupboard when everyone thinks you gone out...with a big box of milk tray!
  16. tilt head back, line up the squirty bottle and fire!
  17. grated choc sprinkled over ice cream
  18. more grated chocolate that's frozen...suck each lil piece seperately for maximum enjoyment!

So....any ideas?

Sleepless in Tewkesbury

Doesn't quite sound the same as Sleepless in Seattle does it??!!
I was so tired when I finally went to bed last night but I just couldn't settle. I tried counting sheep, I tried watching paint dry (not literally!), I imagined I was doing my finances, I tried reading a really boring book....and I even timed myself to stay totally still...nothing worked!
In the end I decided to get up, do a couple of wash loads and got it dried and ironed it...all by 4am!
Never again though, this sleeplessness has GOT to stop, today I feel frazzled!
So, i'm focussing on something else...I'm going to make a start on the My space Her space pictures...though i'll probably work through them all I shall just enjoy them randomly.... :)

Today's word is chocolate...so here's my contribution :)

Melted chocolate with dipped marshmallows...now who can resist that??!!

What do you do when you have two favourite ways of enjoying chocolate?
Take two pictures of course!! :P

Mint Aero bubbles bobbing up and down in a cup of hot chocolate accompanied by
luverly marshmallows...yummy!!!

Hmm...not only did I enjoy playing with my camera but I was so well rewarded with the left overs of my mission....:D

Me and My Kids

Sundays are just the best aren't they?
It's the one day in the week when I get to really focus on my kids and just be with them in any capacity they choose. Today Kirsten, Charley and I cuddled on the sofa reading Christmas stories!!!

The three offending books...which lead me to sign caroles....in May! I ask ya!! Lol
Kids thought it was great though...and if they are happy then i'm happy. Kirsten had to go one step further though and asked to start making her Christmas cards ready!!
That had to be a no, I know from experience that come December there's no way we'd find them, especially as we are about to move house!!
Charley got his 'mess' stuff out...which is easier for him to say that paint! He has a pretty good folder now with all his little artwork pieces!

Isn't my boy clever? Wonder if he'll be the next Monet?!!!
Sunday wouldn't be Sunday without a nap...and this next picture is just so cool...she's going to kill me when she sees it though!!!

I was also playing around with the camera whilst sat at my desk in the conservatory...its been persisting it down all day here...so hard even the ducks have taken cover! I couldn't get the timing right on capturing the bouncing raindrops, it would have made a fab picture though! Maybe another time though :)
My last picture is my darling daughter in her new glasses...which as yet have not left her nose!!!

Right, thats it for tonight....tomorrow i'm going to venture into some other photo indulgence...:)

Work Work Work

I've been a very busy lickle bee today...not only have I gutted three rooms in my house, made my own lasagne, entertained four kids and got all my mail posted and i've got all washing and drying up to date and half of the ironing! Ok so that's be boring stuff out the way with! Lol
The fun bit has been working on some stuff for my website, a couple of things are listed in the shop area, the next class is almost ready to go live and i've even managed to do the newsletter and get that sent out!
At the side there ------> you will find a sign up thingy if you wanna receive my irregular newsletter about a variety of crafting stuff, from special offers, competitions, new classes, in fact whatever needs to be said and shared will go in the newsletter!
In 8 weeks I have managed to received a mere 203 people sign up for the newsletter! Ok so that's a lot!! I'm just playing! Hopefully this issue will contain enough to encourage more people to sign up...but if you want to receive a copy of todays...then just let me know and i'll get one fired off to you!
Dont be shy, go sign up and see what its all about!

Competition for ya....for anyone who gets 6 people to sign up for at least one of my classes I shall offer you a free class of your choice!! You can choose one that i've already got listed or you can wait and take one that is still to be listed...your choice!!

Right...no rest for the wicked...have a talk to prepare that i'm well behind with!!

Action....Camera.....Cheese

After a dodgy start this morning I decided to change my negative mood swing and got the camera out in the bedroom...(get out the gutter!!) Kirsten and Charley were laying and playing on my bed while I had a shower and I got some pretty good pics....
So i'm gonna share them...because I can! :P

Charley loves doing his hair...with MY serum!! :S

Kirsten waits patiently for me to do her hair...but Charley copies her pose!! Lol

Haven't a clue what she was trying to tell me but all the hand signals she was doing just didn't make sense!! :)

Ok, so I finally get them still for a few minutes!!

I have just popped into town for a bit, and ended up treating myself to a luverly outfit for the job interview I have later. I've opted for a dark brown this time rather than the blacks, grey's and neutrals I normally go for. I figure i'd get all extravigant!! LOL Not....I just liked the jacket!!
Kirsten, who is supposed to be ill, managed to wangle in a couple of outfits from the Kylie Club range as well...lets just say if I see one more snoopy item i'm going to cry!! :)
Now i'm having a fashion parade...so long as I dont touch the camera! Duh, that's why its there!!

Who said kids dont know it all?

I am being pushed out my own home by boxes and its not funny!
When the house went up for sale I decided to make it easier on myself and work my way through stuff that needed to go to new homes, skipped or could be packed up for a while.
It's not long before we move now and I feel like the boxes have invaded my personal space...and i'm having a bit of an issue with it!
This afternoon, Charley was playing 'mess' (painting) and while I was in the adjoining room getting us all a drink he got lost.
I knew he hadn't left the dining room because i'd shut the door. He wasn't in the garden because that door was shut. He wasn't under the table or in the toy box. Neither was in on or under my desk. There was nowhere else he could go! Till I heard a 'joosh mummy' from one of the boxes! He had got himself all comfortable in a very big box (tea chest size) and was painting the inside of it.
So now, my two and a half year old is not only an interior designer but he's left home!!! Perhaps thats why he was trying to take off with that garden chair!! (see post below).

Who said kids tie you down???!!!! LOL

Smiling on the inside is rather neat!

I wonder how many people are actually smiling on the inside?
I dont mean hiding something but feeling that their lot in life is good?
I look at my life and I see the flaws, I see the hiccups and I see the bits that have fallen apart, but it's just life...things happen but its only served to show me what really makes me tick on the inside.
I have my fair share of challenges just now but on the inside i'm smiling, i'm happy, i'm positive and i'm on my way to something wonderful...and wonderful is what I want it to be, not what the world or society wants it or thinks it should be. I'm doing my life for me, for what I know is good and right.
In the midst of all my challenges and unsurities I have realised just how strong I am as a woman, a mother and as a daughter of God. I was surprised just how strong I became in the face of adversity...though at the time I sure didn't see it!!
So, if anyone is reading this, I urge you to go find your smile on the inside...I believe we all have it, we just dont always want to look for it or acknowlege it!!
This is my happy place...a picture I found on webshots that just encourages me to think, analyse and feel....the freedom, the space, the air, the sun, the whole everything that I dont get in the regular rat race of life!!!

Back soon

Who am I?

So much has been happening that I think i've lost myself somewhere along the line! Life is still having its down just now but i'm sure something will come good soon.
Amidst life's trials and challenges I have utilised my time to work on some classes for my site and some other fantastic stuff that will all be coming soon.
On the home front I have found a gorgeous house that is currently going through its process for us to take over, if all goes well we could be in there by the end of the month! I'm so looking forward to moving in, its a new house, nothing needs doing to it (decorating wise), it has a lovely enclosed garden, fitted kitchen, downstairs loo, nice sized dining room, fitted bedroom suites and ensuite...naturally that's MINE!!!
It's a reasonable walk from Charley's nursery, Scott's school and will be ideal for Kirsten when she goes up to the High School in September...till then i'll just have to drive her in to the one she's at now which isn't the longest run in the world!
I have a job interview later this week whick would be perfect if I was fortunate enough to be offered it but we'll see, i'm not counting my chickens!
The classes for my website are coming along nicely, as is the advertising for workshops and crops that i'll be doing on a regular basis when we've moved. I am also working on a weekend retreat in Gloucestershire, a cyber crop, a few competitions and a holiday!!
No the holiday isnt the prize for the competition! Its for me! I haven't decided where i'm going to yet but i'm off in a sunny place for a couple of weeks so I can catch my breath, smell good fresh air and just forget about the rat race we call life for a wee while!
Till that day comes though...I have much to keep me busy and lots of plans to bring into fruition!
I dont think i'm in a talkative mood here today...definately unlike me and so not like my previous blogs!!! Lol
Maybe i'll find something to waffle about soon....I just hope i'm not loosing that skill!! :)
In the meantime i'm going to share some photos of Charley when we went for a walk the other day....enjoy!

The boy thinks he can help himself to someone elses garden chair!! The shame of it!!

Charley was determined to find the ducks!! Poor kid is still looking!! Lol
